This month’s cover is the 1823 facsimile of the United States Declaration of
Independence. It is believed that Stone may have used a wet pressing process that
removed ink from the original document onto a contact sheet for printing.
When our ancestors found themselves in civil war with the British
Government, they came together to list their individual grievances and
compiled a list that they could all agree on as their official statement of
divorce from their previous government.
