Elizabeth’s thoughts today

Just a few thoughts this morning.
After the news the other day about 6 Dr Seuss books being taken out of publication due to being racist, I started thinking about other Dr. Seuss books. “Put me in a Zoo” This story talks about an animal that can change the color of his spots.
He wants to live in a zoo. The zoo refused to accept him, So by the end of the story has to live in a Circus. Why is this book not considered racist? He is not accepted because of the way he looks. And “The sneeches”? If you were a sneech with a star you were considered better than everyone else. If you didn’t have a star you were not worth the time of day to even look at by others.
Now understand I don’t believe any of these books have anything to do with racism but if you going to go as far as that why not these books? That brings in the next thought of the day, as I run into the new CDC rules that have come out about masks and vaccinations. As I have stated multiple times, I don’t care if you wear a mask or you get vaccinated. I do care when it is used against us as a weapon to separate us. Now skip ahead a couple days to today, according to the CDC, that is exactly what is starting to happen. I have said it over and over that is it going to come to this. And it begins. According to the CDC. If you get vaccinated, you are now free to live without a mask. You can go where you want, see who you want. But those of us that have not been vaccinated, you are not allowed. Which one of “The Sneeches are we now.” Soon enough, people not vaccinated and/or wearing masks will be considered unclean. How long until we are considered the lepers? Cast aside and looked down on because we are not like you? Are the American People going to stand up to this? Are we going to start treating everyone with the respect that is deserved as a Child of God? Or are we going to let us fall further apart as a nation and let the Country be divided? As a Child Of God and citizen of The United States of America, we are all given that freedom to choose our own path in life. Your path is not my path, my path is not yours. It is time to start looking at our own paths, and worrying about our own paths, not the path of your neighbor. You are told in The Gospel of Matthew records Jesus’ answer: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (22:37-39). No where does it say you are allowed to put yourself on a pedestal above those that are different than you. Or that your opinion is the right one and no one else is allowed to think differently.
At the end of the book “The sneeches”, after the sneeches tried to change the way they look, either to fit in with
“The Crowd” or to keep themselves better than the ones they feel are below them, they couldn’t tell who was who, and they ended up accepting everyone. When are we all going to unite to stop the fighting and the separation and fight for our rights back? When are we going to learn the lessons that we have been taught our whole lives? Accept everyone for who they are. “No one can win the war individually” John Legend & Common.

Mercy

We live at a time where good is declared as evil and corruption is declared as righteousness. Although the scriptures and those who are wise had warned us that this was coming, nothing could have prepared us for the time
