A small Family Timeout

My fellow Patriots. You may have noticed that I failed to get a podcast up this week. Our new son was born! Mom and baby have some minor hurdles to get over so will be staying a few extra days in the Hospital. I am back and forth each day at about an hour and a half each way. Needless to say we are taking a few days to enjoy his birth into our family. After helping our family recover rest assured we will be back.

The miracle of life is abundant for us right now. We have a new batch of piglets born the night before my son. We also have a batch of baby bunnies born a few days before that. Spring has sprung in our life and the snow and ice from the winter are receding. I see patches of grass finally. It seems early for us but I will take it. We lost quite a bit of livestock this year to weather.

As I was feeding some piglets this morning that had recently been weened from another sow, I thought of how they are oblivious to the drama of the world and their entire existence is one of enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Perhaps this is why so many people tune out to what is really going on in the world. It is mentally easier for them to be oblivious.

Birth and death, on the farm and in life, help wake one up to the importance of paying attention to the bigger picture. I am fairly convinced that homesteading could be a good cure for socialism.

Anyway, we will be off for a few days. This will not affect or delay the next publication and podcasts are expected to resume sometime next week. There may be a little something special for our subscribers coming but that is about it. We will see how it goes. Thank you all so much for your support!

Keep up the good fight Patriots!

We will talk soon.
